New York Yankees - Tampa
George M. Steinbrenner Field
Named after the late George Steinbrenner, the boss, the field honoring his name makes it all work in a spring-training ballpark with a seating capacity of 11,076, and a feel grander than it really is. Steinbrenner Field stirs up more nostalgia than it really should, too, for a stadium that's only been here since 1996. With the largest seating capacity among Grapefruit League stadiums, the Yankees have been the leaders in total attendance each year since their move to Tampa. Yankees tickets are the hardest to come by in the Grapefruit League even in the league's largest venue
Steinbrenner Field is home to Yankee legends for whom the field is named. Take a trip down memory lane as the greatest Yankees are honored with a retired number and plaque of 15 players honoring Yankees numbers that have been retired by the team. Men like Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle and all the rest. Steinbrenner Field also features the largest Yankee memorabilia store in the Southeast. In the Legends Room you can choose from 100's of different Yankee products. The Legends Room's vast inventory includes souvenirs from the New York Yankees, Tampa Yankees, and Steinbrenner Field merchandise.
The design of Steinbrenner Field takes on a new look in 2017. A $40 million dollar renovation is complete with new fan experiences including all new seating options, social spaces for fans, new team stores, shaded right field terrace, Florida themed cabanas and a 360 degree concourse for a view of the game at every angle.
